Next Day,
Amelia POV
"Good morning, class. Before we begin with our syllabus, I would like to appoint the class representatives. One from the girls, and one from the boys."
My head snapped towards the professor. I was really wondering who could be the class representatives. The professor brought with her a bowl filled with chits. Those chits had the names of the whole class. It was going to be a kind of lucky draw.
"Amelia and Justin, please stand up."
The professor's voice interrupted my thoughts.
Oh! I'm the class representative? Cool. I've always been a class representative back in my school and junior college.
My eyes made their way towards the boy with whom I'll be sharing this responsibility. Alas! The grey hoodie guy!
An instant regret hit me to be the class representative this time. This guy didn't even ask me my name or even say his name yesterday in the cafe. How am I supposed to work with him? Moreover, how can I face him in the cafe when we sit together with our group?
"Both of you will be informed about your duties and tasks after a few weeks." I heard the professor say.
Later that day,
I spotted Daisy near the cafe. She was about to enter when I called her up. We were chatting about our day and our classmates. Suddenly, today's incident flashed my mind. I made up my mind to ask Daisy about that 'grey hoodie guy'.
"Daisy, will you tell me something about that guy who was wearing grey hoodie yesterday?" I asked her.
She took a moment and asked me with a broad smile, "Oh, are you already crushing on him, huh?"
I scoffed at her, "Heck, no! I'm just asking. Actually we both are appointed as class representatives. So I just wanted to know a little about him."
"No worries Amy, I'll tell you. His name is Justin. Justin Cole. Amongst everyone in the group, Justin is the quiet one. He talks a very little. But yeah, he's close to Liam. Liam is his best friend since childhood. He knows everything about Justin. Justin would talk to us only about studies or well being. He's kind of an introvert and conserved. But he's always protective towards his friends. And trust me, once you get to know him, he'll be your good friend too." Daisy explained me.
The next moment she glanced at her phone and said, "Amy, it's time for my next class. I'll see you later." I waved her a goodbye and left.
Justin POV
I was casually walking through the corridors as I still had time left for my next class. I had not made many friends in the uni, as I prefer to stay with a small but real friends circle.
Liam, Ryan and Andrew are more than enough for me to survive in this uni. Liam is my childhood best friend, and I met Ryan and Andrew here at the uni. They are really good people. Around me, there are many girls who try to get my attention and push themselves towards me. Honestly, I despise these type of girls.
My thoughts and steps came to a halt as I heard my phone ring. I looked at the caller ID. It was Liam. I received the call and got busied myself with the conversation.
Suddenly a small figure bumped into me. I was startled and distracted but not hurt anywhere.
I glanced down to look at the girl surrounded by so many books. Yeah, it was clear she was carrying that pile of books. Along with her books, her phone and other stationeries slipped through her hands due to the collision.
With a frustrated tone, she glanced up at me and shouted, "Can't you see where—" and realization hit us both. She's the same nerd girl. Though I was calm enough to confront her, she anxiously picked up her belongings and ran away without sparing me a glance.
"Weird nerd", I thought to myself.
Two weeks later,
Amelia POV
Each day is so tiring. It has been only two weeks and I'm already tired with my studies. Everyday completing loads of assignments and revision is really not easy.
I was relaxing while sipping my coffee when I heard my phone's notification. I unlocked my phone and saw my professor's message. Yeah, I'm her favourite student now so we exchanged contact numbers for any work-related conversations.
My professor asked me to meet her tomorrow an hour before our lectures along with Justin Cole.
Wait, Justin!? We sit in the same class but we never glance at each other. And I really don't want to face him directly after I bumped into him that day. It was embarrassing.
I wonder what he must be thinking about me—such a clumsy girl and she will fullfil the responsibility of being a class representative. I'm surely doomed.
Excited to know further what would happen? Will Amelia take a step forward to talk to Justin? Or would Justin push her off?
