To The Cafe With 'Certified Agents of Chaos'

Next day,

Author POV

The sun had barely stretched it's rays over the skyline with the city began to hum with the lazy promise of a Sunday. In the boys apartment, the air was thick with the smell of fresh coffee, waffles and vague regret from a week of chaos.

Ryan, up before anyone else as usual, stood in the kitchen flipping waffles. Andrew, stumbled in next, hair a tangled mess, already halfway through a banana before his brain fully powered on.

From the hallway, Liam appeared with a business management book under one arm, looking pleased with the smell of breakfast.

Justin, however, was still in his room- door ajar, soft jazz playing. He sat at his desk in a black tee, writingsomething carefully in a leather notebook, a half-drunk espresso beside him. Ever the quiet observer, he took his Sunday mornings with intention – words, music and peace.

"Yo, Justin!" Ryan called out. "Waffles?"

"I'll be there in a minute," came the calm, velvety reply.

Meanwhile, in the girls' dorm, things were slow but no less lively.

Sarah sketched by the window. Katherine, ever the sunshine of the group, was already on the floor like a starfish, doom-scrolling and dramatically sighing.

On the other dorm, Amelia scrolled through Pinterest while munching cereal. Daisy aimlessly scrolled reels on her Instagram

All of a sudden, Katherine sat up like she'd been struck by divine inspiration.

She opened Instagram and fired a message into their group chat, titled "Certified Agents of Chaos".

Katherine 💬:

"Rise & Shine 🌞 It's Sunday. No exams, no drama (yet). I propose: we should go out this evening before the new week chews us alive."

Daisy 💬:

"Yes, Katy. Somewhere with food and maybe vibes. And definitely no adulting."

At the apartment, the familiar ping had all four guys checking their phones.

Ryan chuckled. "Katherine wants to go out."

Andrew 💬:

"I'm in. I'll behave... maybe."

Liam 💬:

"I'd like that."

Justin leaned in the doorway now, coffee in hand, reading the messages with an amused smile.

"I think It's a good idea," he said simply. "It's been a while since we all did something together.

Ryan 💬:

"I'm down. As long as Andrew doesn't get us kicked out again."

Sarah 💬:

"So where should we go to?"

Amelia 💬:

"I vote for the rooftop cafe we passed last week. The one with fairy lights and overpriced hot chocolate."

Katherine 💬:

"Say less, babygirl. It's DATE. 6 PM. No flaking."

Justin now seated with the boys, added his first message to the thread.

Justin 💬:

"I'll drive. Pick-up squad, be ready by 5:30 PM."

Andrew 💬:

"King behaviour 👑"

And just like that, the evening was set: fairy lights, too much laughter, maybe some accidental flirting; and one night where the world paused for the Certified Agents of Chaos to just exist–messy, tender and perfectly them.

The city outside had started to blush gold as the sun dipped lower, casting long shadows through windows and painting dorm walls with soft light.

In the boys' apartment, the chaos was evolving.

Andrew was in front of the mirror, trying on sunglasses indoors. "Is this giving mysterious icon or man who sells crypto in DMs?"

Ryan barely glanced up. "It's giving 'you're not allowed to order for us again'." He was in his usual crisp style-simple, clean, sharp. Effortless.

Liam stood by the door, already ready for fifteen minutes, obsessively checking the time on his watch. "It's 5:16. We said we'd leave at 5:30."

Andrew looked at him through his third pair of sunglasses. "He's panicking. It must be love."

Justin, as expected, was coolly composed. He wore a black button-up, sleeves half-rolled, watch subtle, hair perfectly tousled. He tossed his car keys into the air and caught them smoothly. "You guys ready?"

Andrew: "Ready to destroy social norms and drink overpriced hot chocolate? Always.

Meanwhile, all the girls gathered up at Katherine and Sarah's dorm for getting themselves ready for the night.

Amelia was perched on Katherine's bed, curling her hair with practiced ease while reading random reviews of the café aloud.

"Apparently the vibe is 'too soft to cry in but too pretty to laugh in.' What does that even mean?"

Katherine, mid-eyeliner wing, said, "It means we're about to cause an aesthetic disturbance."

Sarah stepped out of the bathroom in a cozy, slightly oversized sweater and a long skirt, cheeks dusted with natural blush. "Do I look... okay?"

Amelia and Katherine paused. Then in perfect, chaotic harmony:

"Goddess."

"Liam's going to forget his name."

Sarah flushed, muttered something about just being friends, and sat down quickly.

Katherine's phone buzzed-it was Justin.

Justin 💬:

"Outside in 10. Prepare yourselves, I have the aux."

Katherine 💬:

"You better not play sad jazz or i'm jumping out the window."

The energy was electric now. Makeup bags zipped shut. Perfume clouds lingered. Sketchbooks tucked away, earrings forgotten then remembered again. And as the girls finally filed out of the dorm, all four distinctly different in vibe but glowing in their own way, there was a shared thrill.

This wasn't just another Sunday night.

It was their night.

Fairy lights. Bad jokes. Flirtation that felt like static. Hot chocolate that cost too much. And a table too small for all of them-but somehow, just right.
